https://theroots.fm/ this is a freeform listener supported rock station they have been on air for a couple of years not sure how they keep running but worth a look seems like there model works

dj has freedom to play what ever he wants no playlist it was big in the 70s radio

is it anything like AOR (album oriented rock) heard of that when I went to Austin for a temporary duty assignment back in 78. the radio station was really cool; although i dont remember the name. Been listening since 2019 to the kzew and was there when it went off the air, sad day for all rockers.

yes original album rock before it got watered down and ruined by corporate radio corporations ruin everything i grew up with wnew and wplj in the 70s great djs and deep music

I learn something everyday. I was stationed near white sands, nm back then and we had to set up a radio antenna to get the rock station down in el paso, I think it was KPAS 94 something; wildcard was here in west texas back then. ??
wildcard: there was another station but i dont remember it (not KLAQ they are the bad guys i.e. corporate radio dumbasses...)

70s radio was the best hands down early 80s was good too and thank you for your service to this great country

BOBBYN, yes that was "The Pass" KPAS 94 FM in El Paso. They were really good and reminds me of KZEW for sure!

Thanks for the info on the FM station BUDDAHNJ. I think we can survive if we get enough support. We only need about 2% of listeners to contribute to cover the bills.

We continue to work on the station every single day adding content and developing new programming.

We soon going to turn our attention to begin going out into the community to meet with all the zoo freaks in the area and gather volunteers and develop a plan for survival and then growth.

We will continue to find ways to entertain the old zoo freaks while attracting the next generation of zoo freaks necessary for our longevity.

We have made new friends and look forward to meeting you guys too. Rock on brothers!
