I'm Unbreakable

Crossbone Skully

The song I'm Unbreakable by Crossbone Skully from the album Evil World Machine is a rousing anthem of empowerment and resilience, perfectly suited for the Zoo Crew’s vibe at THE ZOO radio station, where Zoo Freaks can feel its high-energy spirit. According to Tommy Henriksen, the mastermind behind Crossbone Skully, the track was crafted to inspire confidence and strength, with lyrics like “I’m unstoppable, unshockable, irreplaceable, unbeatable.” Henriksen explained in a 2023 interview with Rock At Night that the song reflects the universal struggle against life’s challenges, urging listeners to see themselves as warriors who’ve already proven their durability by persevering. The song’s positive message, wrapped in hard-hitting guitar riffs and a classic rock swagger, makes it a standout for fans craving both inspiration and raw energy.

Another layer of intrigue comes from the song’s production, which was overseen by legendary producer Mutt Lange, known for his work with AC/DC and Def Leppard. Lange came out of retirement specifically for the Evil World Machine project, a testament to its ambitious vision. In a post on X, a fan account, @JerrieDepp, celebrated the song’s connection to the broader Crossbone Skully universe, which includes a graphic novel and animated film called Thing #1, featuring voiceovers from rock icons like Alice Cooper and Nikki Sixx, as well as actor Johnny Depp. The track was released as the B-side to a limited-edition 7” vinyl single alongside The Boom Went The Boom, with proceeds supporting the charity MusiCares, as noted on Sport Playlists. This charitable angle adds a feel-good element for Zoo Freaks spinning the record.

Crossbone Skully, led by Tommy Henriksen, is more than just a band—it’s a multidimensional rock ‘n’ roll experience rooted in a superhero narrative. Henriksen, born February 21, 1964, in Port Jefferson Station, New York, grew up in a working-class family raised by a single mother. His musical journey began on the New York scene with the band Ruffkut, where he played alongside his brother Gene on drums. Initially performing covers, Ruffkut released the Fight for the Right mini-LP in 1984, marking Henriksen’s early songwriting efforts. His punk rock roots took shape with the band P.O.L. (Parade of Losers), where he went by the moniker Da Skunk, channeling influences like the Sex Pistols. A pivotal moment came when Alice Cooper’s lighting technician, who previously worked with AC/DC, heard Henriksen’s Bon Scott-like vocals during a soundcheck and encouraged him to pursue a solo project, sparking the creation of Crossbone Skully.

Henriksen’s career also includes stints with German metal band Warlock and collaborations with artists like Lady Gaga, Meat Loaf, and Lou Reed as a producer, songwriter, and mixer. Now based in Zurich, Switzerland, with his wife Sandra and son Finn, Henriksen has been a key member of Alice Cooper’s band and the Hollywood Vampires alongside Johnny Depp and Joe Perry. The Crossbone Skully project, co-created with guitarist Tommy Denander, blends his diverse experiences into a concept album that echoes David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust. Henriksen’s vision for the project, inspired by his lifelong passion for music as a lifeline, resonates with fans who connect through the band’s official channels and fan communities.

Fans can dive deeper into Crossbone Skully’s world via their official website, follow their updates on Facebook, check out vibrant posts on Instagram, and join the conversation on X.
