Loud! Loud! Loud!

Alright, Zoo Freaks, the Zoo Crew is spinning "Loud! Loud! Loud!" off Ratchet Dolls' album Bring The Noize, and this one was built for the volume knob. Texas hard rockers Kevin Sauceda, Sofie Abrams, and Ethan Lo cut the track at EarRiot Studios with Kevin writing the music and producing it himself, keeping the rough edges in on purpose. The official video dropped in late April 2024 after the band sat on it for months. On their Facebook page they told folks they had waited a long time to let it out, worked hard on it, and were ready to play it live. The song rides a denim-and-leather story about a rock and roll woman who loves the commotion, headbangs on her own, and will jump the pit or clear the room. Fans have stacked it next to the old AC/DC, KISS, Mötley Crüe, and Airbourne spirit, which is exactly the lane these records live in.

Kevin later told InMusic that "The Enemy" used to be his pick from the record because he wrote it about his own inner demons, but night after night on the Bring The Noize tour changed his mind. He said playing "Loud! Loud! Loud!" live shaped it into what it was always supposed to be, loud, and that the electricity in the room beats the headphones. Sofie has said the video for this one and "The Enemy" runs hotter and less casual than the goofier clip they shot later for "Take Me Down," which matches how silly the band gets between sets. One comment under the video put it plain: kids today need this kind of music more than they know. The album itself landed August 22, 2024, on EarRiot Records, eight songs of riff-heavy rock with the flaws left in so it would not sound polished into something else.

The band got started down in Brownsville, Texas, when Kevin Sauceda put a group together to drag rock and roll back to the front of the local scene. They looked different and sounded different, so people either loved them or hated them, and either way they talked. They were never the kind of band that stood still. Early on they were called The Skeptic until another act with that name got signed and a lawyer's letter showed up. With gigs already booked, Kevin introduced the band as Ratchet Dolls on the spot. He figured they would pick a more serious name later. The silly one stuck. When the road got long, the first lineup walked. Kevin kept the name alive with friends and hired players, taught himself the artwork, the booking, and the recording because there was no money for studios or designers, and in 2019 the band finally started touring for real.

Sofie Abrams grew up in Boise, Idaho, picked up a guitar around thirteen, and was already out on the road with her own band when she met Kevin. She filled in on Ratchet Dolls tours whenever a player bailed, believed in the vision before she was even in the group, then moved to San Antonio and joined for good. Drummer Ethan Lo, out of El Paso, came in the same way, through stages and shared bills. Bring The Noize is the first album this lineup made together. They have since opened for Faster Pussycat and Enuff Z'Nuff, shared bills with the likes of L.A. Guns and Tom Keifer, and taken the show to the UK, Sweden, and Norway. Kevin still calls the whole thing a self-oiled machine, and he will tell you they might just be crazy enough to keep going.
