Intro / Dayman

RMB

The song "Intro / Dayman" by RMB, a cover from the TV show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, has sparked enthusiasm among fans, especially within the show's dedicated community. A 2025 Reddit post on the r/IASIP subreddit by user ramsta72 garnered 1,847 votes and 95 comments, with fans calling the cover "the TITS" and praising its funky energy. One commenter noted the song's nostalgic pull, saying it evokes "warm fuzzies," while another admitted it’s a frequent listen on streaming platforms. The cover, originally posted on Facebook in 2017, exploded to two million views, giving RMB significant social media traction. Fans on Reddit also remarked on the band’s unexpected appearance, with one joking about needing "more spandex" for the performance, highlighting the playful vibe RMB brings to the track.

Another layer of trivia comes from RMB’s live performances of "Dayman." A Reddit user mentioned seeing the band play it in 2022, suggesting it’s a staple in their setlist. The song’s infectious funk and bluesy undertones have led to comparisons with the show’s humorous intent, with one fan humorously requesting a Tenacious D version, indicating the cover’s impact in sparking creative discussions. The Downey Patriot reported in 2022 that while RMB isn’t a cover band, their take on "Dayman" showcases their ability to blend humor with musical skill, resonating with both Zoo Freaks and Sunny fans tuning into THE ZOO radio station.

RMB, based in Downey, California, consists of Randell Milan (guitar and lead vocals), Jose “Pudge” Pascal (bass), and Carlos Soto (drums). The band’s origin story began in 2016, rooted in serendipitous connections. According to a Downey Patriot article, Milan and Soto, who met in high school at Downey High, reconnected at Cerritos College and decided to pursue music together. Pascal, a Norwalk native, entered the picture after meeting Milan at an open mic night at a Norwalk cafe. Milan recalled Pascal’s immediate connection, speaking in “musician terms” that felt like “my vernacular, my lingo.” That same night, they jammed together, laying the foundation for RMB. Soto joined a year later after an audition, and their first rehearsal in January 2016 marked the start of a collaborative journey.

The band’s songwriting process is notably democratic, with each member contributing riffs or lyrics that evolve collectively. Their music, described as a mix of funky bass, bluesy vocals, and tight percussion, carries a raw, rebellious edge, perfect for the Zoo Crew’s hippie DJ aesthetic and their Zoo Freak audience. RMB’s commitment to original compositions, alongside strategic covers like "Dayman," reflects their passion for music over fame. As Soto said, “We may never be on the radio, we may never have a million dollars, but we made it already, we made it seven years ago,” emphasizing their focus on the joy of creation.

Fans can connect with RMB through their official Facebook page, where they share updates and performance clips, including the viral "Dayman" video. Their Instagram account offers behind-the-scenes glimpses and gig announcements, while their X profile engages with fans through quick updates and music-related posts. Currently, there’s no official website listed for RMB, but their social media presence is active. Fan communities, such as the RMB Music Fan Club on Facebook, provide a space for supporters to discuss the band’s music and share concert experiences. These platforms keep the Zoo Freaks vibing with RMB’s funky sound and the spirited energy of "Intro / Dayman."
