Back To The 1970's

The Treatment

The song "Back To The 1970's" by The Treatment has quickly become a fan favorite since its release in early 2024 as part of the album Wake Up The Neighbourhood, evoking the raw energy of classic rock eras with its driving riffs and nostalgic lyrics. In a recent interview shared on rock forums, frontman Tom Rampton described the track as a "love letter to the golden age of hard rock," revealing that the band drew inspiration from late-night jam sessions where they riffed on 1970s icons like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin, aiming to capture that unfiltered party vibe. Fans on social media have echoed this sentiment, with one X post from a dedicated listener calling it "the ultimate time machine track that makes you want to crank the volume and forget the modern world," highlighting how it resonates with Zoo Freaks craving that retro escape during late-night radio spins.

Diving deeper into the band's backstory, The Treatment got their start in 2008 in Cambridge, England, when teenage drummer Dhani Mansworth, just 15 years old and fueled by a passion for AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, and Aerosmith, assembled the group with his father Laurie Mansworth's guidance as manager. What began as school friends jamming—bassist Rick Newman joined at 15, followed by guitarist Tagore Grey—quickly evolved when they recruited 17-year-old vocalist Matt Jones from Norwich, who relocated to Cambridge within a week to commit fully. The young lineup locked themselves away to hone their high-energy sound, emerging with a deal from Powerage Records after impressing label head Tim Bowness, leading to their debut album recorded at Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris's Barnyard Studios.

Over the years, The Treatment has navigated lineup changes while staying true to their roots, supporting legends like Status Quo and playing festivals such as Sonisphere. Today, fans can connect with the band through their official Facebook page, where over 30,000 followers share tour updates and memorabilia. Follow them on Instagram for behind-the-scenes glimpses, or on X for real-time banter. Their official website at thetreatmentuk.com offers merch, tour dates, and discography details.
