Our Mission
Young people today live in a culture where being politically correct has been weaponized. It's shocking that even in America today, no matter what they believe, young people are not able to speak their minds without fear of instant judgement and social media comdemnation. Social media and news cycles have become hate-filled and divisive, and the leaders of this World add more fuel to the fire instead of cooling the flames. Studies indicate that young people, so called “digital natives”, are more fearful than previous generations. They are more prone to chronic stress, anxiety, and depression. The digital overload of information and tidal wave of mass opinions are responsible for creating overly complex identities they find hard to navigate. Instead of enhancing their lives, these advances in culture and technology have added to their apprehension and loneliness.
People of today long to escape to a simpler time of the past. A time when people were authentic, before selfies and photo filters. Before algorithms and "skip" buttons put each individual on their own musical island. Music and life is created to be experienced together.
So, it’s an opportunity for those of us that were teens and young adults back in the day of the original KZEW radio station, to pour our hearts and souls into this project and make it a relevant and positive force for people of today. Our shared experiences and positive vibes can inspire people to treat themselves and others just a little bit better.
THE ZOO KZEW RADIO PROJECT is our collective chance to create a better tomorrow through timeless music and zany comedy. Please join us in this mission.
